Cleveland Cavaliers 2014-17
Cleveland! This is for you! The words of an emotional LeBron James after finally delivering on his promise to bring a title to the franchise. He had to do it the hard way, with a super team, coming back from a historical 3-1 deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors. Leaving the Heat in 2014, just in time for the 2015 season, James would return to fulfill a promise, and he would have something he never had in his first stint, real support. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love formed a potent duo to anchor James, while a very good second group on the bench gave the team balance. However, on their first attempt in 2015, injuries and a stellar Golden State team would thwart the Cavs, with Andre Iguodala earning finals MVP for his defense on James. 2016 would be tending towards a similar end until LeBron thundered a Stephen Curry shot off the backboard and then another epic block on Andre Iguodala, to turn the tide of a series that looked finished. The Cavaliers would come out deserving winners, forever to the remembered by history.
Golden State Warriors 2016-2019
The Warriors built their championship contender team via the draft with players no one really believed could be superstars in the league. Fans and pundits alike had not seen the likes of what Curry could do with shooting the ball or how entertaining and effective small ball could be. The team would shocked and entertained its way to the 2015 NBA title and looked set to repeat after coming back from 3-1 down in the Western Conference finals against the Thunder led by Durant. The team would have a meltdown of their own, losing to the Cavs before forming the Hampton 5 by recruiting and getting Durant in free agency. The chemistry was instant and the Warriors were sure title favorites every single season. Adding DeMarcus Cousins to the mix and the Warriors had the ultimate team, one of the best ever assembled. Cousins will be unlucky however, as injuries would put an end to the dynasty with Durant moving on to the Nets after an Achilles injury sidelined him for much of the finals against Toronto.
